End Of You

I toil in silence, don’t know where my mind is
Numb from the shock of it all
Cut myself open, but I wasn’t broken
Tryin’ to fix what wasn’t wrong

Can you feel it taking over? I know I’m not alone
If I must go, the waves should drag me out

When every lie was kept so close
Burned by the game for what I chose
Now you’re tossing and turning
I’m pulling the plug on my dreams
‘Cause the end of you is the start of life for me

How was I to know?
Crystalline castles turned to dust in the palm of your hand
But I’m wide awake this time
Burn it down to find nothing inside

Can you feel it taking over? (Feel it taking over)
I feel it creeping in (I feel it creeping in)
I’m back at the edge again (Ayy)

When every lie was kept so close
Burned by the game for what I chose (What I chose)
Now you’re tossing and turning
I’m pulling the plug on my dream

‘Cause the end of you is the start of life for me
The start of life for me
My innocence was blind, now I can finally see (Oh-oh-oh)
The start of life for me

You make me feel so wide awake for good this time
You are an echo of a dream as it fades from my mind (Mind)
Wide awake for good this time
I can finally let go of the shame as I claim my new life

Sung from a fractured lullaby
Innocence draining from our eyes
All I wanted was stolen
I hate all that I believed
Oh-oh (Oh-oh)
(I’m wide awake for good this time)
Oh-oh (Oh-oh)
(Wide awake for good this time)

You’re tossing and turning
I’m pulling the plug on the dream

‘Cause the end of you is the start of life for me

“Music is an escape without denying the reality of our pain. It’s a place to vent, be heard, and find hope—a belief that we can get through it, together.” – Amy Lee

Evanescence Earns First No. 1 on Billboard Mainstream Rock Airplay with “Afterlife”

Evanescence Earns First No. 1 on Billboard Mainstream Rock Airplay with “Afterlife”

Evanescence has hit a career-defining milestone: “Afterlife,” a track featured on Netflix’s animated Devil May Cry series, has climbed to #1 on Billboard’s Mainstream Rock Airplay chart—the first time the band has ever topped this chart.

The Power of Soundtracks: Devil May Cry & Beyond

“Afterlife” debuted in April 2025 as part of Netflix’s animated Devil May Cry series. The track’s rise to the top also reflects Evanescence’s shift toward multimedia music projects:

  • Amy Lee recently teamed with K.Flay on the powerful “Fight Like a Girl” for the Ballerina film soundtrack.
  • This dual presence in gaming and film is expanding the band’s reach—and keeping their sound fresh and relevance.

What’s Next?

With “Afterlife” marking a new high, fans can likely expect more experimental releases, visual-heavy projects, and potential new music announcements later this year. Their ability to resonate across generations continues to cement their place as a force in modern rock. Amy Lee has stated in an interview that the new album should be released early next year.

Stream Now: ‘Fight Like a Girl’: Evanescence & K.Flay’s Anthem of Empowerment

Stream Now: ‘Fight Like a Girl’: Evanescence & K.Flay’s Anthem of Empowerment

Evanescence returns with a powerful anthem, “Fight Like a Girl,” for the upcoming John Wick spinoff film Ballerina. Co‐written and performed by frontwoman Amy Lee alongside alt‐rock artist K.Flay, the track was released on June 6, 2025, coinciding with the film’s theatrical debut.

After the success of “Hand That Feeds” (Amy Lee’s collaboration with Halsey released on May 9, 2025), Evanescence continued their involvement with Ballerina by enlisting K.Flay for the end‐credit song. “Fight Like a Girl” was conceived as a thematic complement to the film’s narrative—one centered on vengeance, resilience, and female empowerment. In interviews, Amy Lee revealed that Tyler Bates, Ballerina’s composer and producer, reached out with the film’s concept, sparking the writing process.

K.Flay (Kristine Flaherty), known for her genre‐bending style, recorded her verse while on tour, describing the immediate inspiration she felt upon hearing the demo. Together, Lee and Flaherty crafted a duet that balances cinematic drama with alternative rock intensity.

The song was recorded in early 2025, with K.Flay writing and recording her verse while on tour, and Amy Lee tracking her vocals for the film’s soundtrack. Producer Tyler Bates ensured the track seamlessly transitions from the film’s final sequence into the end credits, incorporating cinematic percussion and string swells beneath the rock foundation.

Amy Lee spoke about the timing of the collaboration:

“Tyler calling me up to create this song for Ballerina couldn’t have come at a more perfect time. I know I’m not the only girl out there ready to dig my heels in and show the world what we’re made of. I really wanted this song to be a collab, and K.Flay is one of my favourite artists. It is literally a dream come true to do this together!”

K.Flay added:

“Amy sent me the demo and I was immediately so energised, so inspired. I was on tour at the time, and I wrote my verse backstage after a show, when my adrenaline was still super high. For me, the film and the song are both about how we channel our pain and how we choose to define ourselves. What separates the hero from the villain?”

The title and refrain, “But can you fight like a girl?”, subvert traditional gender expectations. Instead of portraying fragility, the phrase becomes a rallying cry for empowerment and defiance. Throughout the verses, Lee and Flaherty trade lines about vengeance (“Tonight, you’re the victim of your own crime / You’ll swallow your fate”), solidifying the song’s position as an anthem of strength against adversaries—even when the odds appear stacked.

With “Fight Like a Girl,” Amy Lee and K.Flay deliver an uncompromising anthem that aligns perfectly with Ballerina’s narrative of revenge and redemption. The collaboration highlights Evanescence’s ability to adapt their signature sound to cinematic contexts, while K.Flay’s raw lyricism brings a fresh perspective. As fans digest the song—and as the film hits theaters—“Fight Like a Girl” stands as a reminder that empowerment can be loud, fierce, and unapologetic. You can steam now on Spotify here!

Throwback Thursday – Through the Lens: Amy Lee’s Iconic Photoshoots

From the piano-driven introspection of “Fallen” (2003) to the orchestral grandeur of “Synthesis*”(2017), Amy Lee has used visuals as a powerful extension of her music. In this article, we revisit four landmark photoshoots—each one capturing a different chapter of her artistic evolution. For this throwback Thursday we explore some of Amy Lee’s most iconic photoshoots.

1. Fallen Era Promo Shoots

Why It Matters:
When Evanescence was still refining their sound, this black-and-white studio session set the visual tone for Fallen. Photographers focused on stark lighting to highlight Amy’s duality—vulnerability and strength—mirroring the album’s themes.

2. The Open Door Era Shoots

Why It Matters:
By fall 2006, Evanescence was preparing to release their sophomore album, The Open Door. The promotional imagery shifted from raw monochrome to deeper color palettes—crimson accents, derelict Victorian backdrops—reflecting Amy’s gothic storytelling and the album’s more orchestral direction.

3. Self-Titled Album Era Shoots

Why It Matters:
After a five-year hiatus, Evanescence returned with their self-titled third album. For this campaign, Amy Lee teamed up with fashion photographers to produce modern, high-contrast images—bold makeup, architectural backdrops—that signaled a mature, more experimental sonic palette.

4. Synthesis Orchestral Era Shoots

Why It Matters:
When Evanescence recorded Synthesis—an orchestral reimagining of earlier songs—Amy Lee embraced a classical aesthetic. Photographers shot her at the Omaha Civic Center, surrounded by the dark wood paneling and symphony lighting, to capture that fusion of rock voice and orchestral power.
